I was asked to do a self portrait by Hailey, my super awesome social media guru. This is what I sketched out tonight. Its not perfect, but I think I am recognizable. Let me know if you want me to do this digitally. 🙂
Here is the latest Couch Potato cartoon, entitled Hanger Management.
There is a bit of a story behind this drawing. My wife’s Grand father was celebrating his birthday. While we were all piling into the car to head to the restaurant, I found that I was really grumpy. I am not normally like that, especially after I have had my cup of coffee. I started to wonder what was wrong with me when I realized I hadn’t had much to eat that day in anticipation of going to the restaurant. So of course, I was only hangry.
It was definitely a long wait before everyone settled down enough for us to eat, but in the end it was worth it. Pepere, if you are reading this, Happy Birthday! Hope you like your new place. – Kenny
I drew a quick sketch in my sketch book, and then viola, this cartoon was created a few weeks later for your enjoyment.
If you want to see how I drew this, please check out the speed drawing video I put on my YouTube channel below:

Wow, there is so much that I need to update you about. First of all, thank you all for your patience over the past few months for my lack of updates. I had been spending the summer at the Sudbury Market in downtown Sudbury! It was such a great experience . I loved the interactions I had with each and everyone of you who stopped by as the summer went by. For those who are not aware, I will not be a regular participant for the Winter Market as I have elected to focus more on my work so I can continue to produce new books and other content for all of my fans.
New Book Launch!
Speaking of new books….. I am pleased to announce that The Adventures of Rabbit Girl: Clever Jinny is finally done!!! Launch date to be announced. I am working with the printers right now to get the earliest launch date available. I will be updating you as we move forward. In the meantime, please feel free pre-purchase your copy of the Clever Jinny!! I will add a local delivery option in the coming days and will have a signing party in Sudbury, Ontario for you to pick up your copy of the book. Details to follow!!!
On your left (or above on mobile devices) you should see a picture of the cover. Yes, it is true. I am the one who illustrated the cover. The interior was done by the talented Raisa M Salvador. Moving forward we have agreed to part ways. This means that I will be illustrating my books for the foreseeable future. I am really excited to get back into artwork, and I feel I have found myself again.
This also means that there is a lot more to come in the future as I continue to develop new work in addition to completing the Rabbit Girl story arc. Here’s a little hint…. The story is starting to heat up in Clever Jinny. I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed working on it!
Tommy and the Christmas Coal Anniversary
About a week and a half ago, the first anniversary for my first book, Tommy and the Christmas Coal passed. To celebrate I knew that I would need to do something super awesome (yes, I did say super awesome). Can I get a drum roll please?
Hard covers!! Yes, that is right, I have partnered with a new on demand printer that does hard covers!! Woohoo! I am so excited that I will get to share my work with you in hard cover.
When I first started this journey I thought I was destined to be a paperback writer. Now that I will join the ranks of the hard cover club, I may have to up my game. Does this mean that I will need to smoke a pipe and write in a satin pajamas and a suede smoking jacket? Only time will tell!!!
That is it for what I can announce today, however stay tuned. I have dedicated myself to spend more time on my work and will have much more to share in the near future. Thank you all for joining me on this journey as I continue to develop as an author/illustrator. Without you and your support I would still be a guy plucking away at the keys without a direction to write in.

I am so excited to announce the Greater Sudbury book drive. It will be running until Tuesday, September 17th, 2019.
The books will be going to local students at participating schools. Should 250 or more books be raised prior to Tuesday, September 17th, 2019, I will be donating 250 books to help support literacy.
If you would like to donate, please come see me on Saturdays at the downtown Greater Sudbury Market between 8 am and 2 pm or purchase online here.
Together we can make a difference.
Right now at this very moment I am sitting at a table surrounded by some of the best writers that Sudbury has to offer. What are we doing? Writing of course!
The Sudbury Writers Guild had invited me to come out to the Sudbury Library to participate in a writing circle. This is the first time I had ever done something like this and I can tell you that the experience has been enriching. Think of it as a positive peer pressure group that forces you to complete a few hours of writing without any distractions. Or the temptation to finish writing early that can often plague a new writer.
The best part of this experience is afterwards we are able to share our work with other more experienced writers and get some great feedback in order to improve the quality of the work we are doing. If I have said before I will say it again. Sudbury is the best at working together in order to make our community better. This group is a great example of how Sudbury writers are supporting each other so collectively we can produce great work.
Over the past few months I wanted to start a blog on my website in order to discuss my journey as an author. Now, if you are paying attention, this is my first blog post ever. That is because I haven’t taken the time I need in order to make a new entry. Thanks to the writers circle I was able to make an edit to my next book. Finish writing the first draft of the following book in that series. Write the copy for the contest I launched on Facebook this week. And on top of it all, write this blog post. Wow! I think I got more done in a few hours than I did all week.
Don’t write children’s books like me? No problem! The Writer’s Circle supports writing of all styles. Whether you are creating a fictional biography, the next great zombie story, or you are writing a script there is someone here who can share their experience to sharpen your skills. In this group you will find encouragement and suggestions in order to fulfill your dreams as a writer. If you love writing and want to also benefit from positive peer pressure to be able to get your thoughts on paper, then you need to stroll on over to the Sudbury Writers’ Guild’s Facebook page and give it a like. They have great events just like this one thanks to the tireless effort of their executive. You too can join us and get writing!!
